I'll tell you why the Whitewater mess
Has proved so hard to handle.
It's gone the way of Iran-Contra
Because it's all one scandal.

Whether it's the red-fighting boys
Or the shameless one from Hope,
What ties it all together is
The government and dope.

The press will say, "We told you so.
You had no need to care,"
When in the end it's said, "We looked,
And found but little there."
