Mr. Dooley on MLK, Jr.
by DCDave

"Th' dead ar-re always pop'lar. I knowed a society wanst to vote a monyment to a man an' refuse to help his fam'ly, all in wan night."

Mr. Dooley (Peter Finley Dunne, 1867-1936)

And I knew one that made a national holiday of a man's birthday but, contrary to the strongly expressed desire of his family and the elementary requirements of justice, showed no interest in finding and prosecuting his murderers.
